These sessions are designed to support you with updated skills and knowledge, while also fulfilling the requirements under New York State’s Companion Animal Care Standards Act.All volunteers who wish to participate as dog walkers, regardless of prior experience, are required to complete this training. This applies to all walking levels (green, yellow, and orange).Starting Sunday, 3/29, volunteers who have not yet completed this training will not be permitted to walk dogs. We encourage everyone to sign up as soon as possible so you can continue spending time with our dogs and providing them with the care they need. Help show these little ones the ropes with leash walking, sit, stay, and other beginner manners that will help them succeed in their future homes. Volunteers will also get plenty of puppy playtime in our fenced puppy yard — full of zoomies, tail wags, and puppy kisses! Your time with the puppies not only helps them build confidence and social skills, but also gives our staff time to clean and refresh their areas. It’s a win-win for everyone!
