Volunteer: Fosters Needed

Help us save more lives. Fostering frees space for other animals in need.

Want to make the world a better place? Take home a foster pet. Fostering means temporarily taking in a cat, dog or small animal with the goal of nurturing them until they can be placed into a permanent home with a family who’ll love them forever.

Why Foster?Fostering helps pet adjust to a home environment and increases their chance of getting adopted. It saves lives by freeing up space for other pets in need. Foster pets get to learn they are safe and loved. It's a great option if you are not in the position to adopt. Fostering is flexible, you can choose who, how, and when!If you fall in love, you can adopt and become a foster failure.

The shelter will provide all necessary medical care and supplies. There is no cost of care for your foster pet.

Foster periods will vary with each animal. Foster-to-Adopt situations typically last up to two weeks before adoption is finalized.

To learn more about our foster program give us a call at 631-728-7387, email Krystin at kkoerner@sasf.org
