Operations

Our volunteers are the heart of our shelter. Without your help it would be hard to operate from day to day. There just is never enough hours in the day! Which is why even one volunteer spending an hour (even once a week or month) helping with laundry, dishes, tidying up, and providing shelter support helps tremendously!

We need your help, no matter how little or much time you can provide to SASF. You are important and appreciated more than you know! The laundry and dishes are truly never ending. You will see! (;We must make sure all our babies are comfy, clean, warm, & with full bellies.

In one hour a you can accomplish any of these tasks:

• Two loads of laundry from being dirty to folded and clean on the shelves.
• Wash, dry, and put away all the shelter food trays, bowls, bones, & Kongs.
• Prepare Kongs/peanut butter bones for every shelter dog & place them in the freezer. (Each dog receives one every night as their enrichment before we leave).
• Sweep and mop all the shelter's main floors
• Clean all of the shelter windows
• Bringing in donations from donation bin, coordinating with the front desk to log specific donations, & putting items away in their respective areas.
