Our head trainer, Veronica & I (Crystal) will be holding a 1 hour instructional class for off site events that we bring dogs to. This is a mandatory class for all volunteers who attend/want to attend off site events to walk a shelter dog. In this class we will go over how to identify what the dog needs, how they are feeling, and the tools to help them while there. Being there are a lot of personal pets that attend these events, crowds, noises, etc. it is helpful to tend to the dog we are walking in the best way possible to make it a positive experience for them. It will be held outside in front of the shelter. If the weather is not good we will hold it inside. We will simulate an event environment during this class to show examples with a dog(s). It will be fun & informative!
